Ekiti 2026: INEC declares Oyebanji winner, + Full results

Governor Abiodun Oyebanji has been declared winner of the 2026 Ekiti State governorship election in Ekiti State in the early hours of Sunday.

The candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) defeated those of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and 13 others.

Oyebanji was re-elected in the election conducted on Saturday with 319,224 votes, with the candidate of the PDP, Olumayokun Oluyede, scoring 40,533 votes, and that of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Dare Bejide, polling 12,872 votes.

He also won in all the 16 local government areas of the state.

The Returning Officer of INEC for the election and Vice Chancellor of Federal University of Technology, Akure, Ondo State, Prof Adenike Oladiji, announced the results at the state headquarters of the commission on Iyin Road in Ado-Ekiti, the state capital.

Oladiji declared: “Therefore, I, Adenike, I am the Returning Officer for the 2026 Ekiti governorship election…Oyebanji Abiodun Abayomi, having satisfied the requirements of the law, is hereby declared the winner and stands re-elected.”
